This shot was taken with my Nikon D90 set to f/1.8 and 1/2500 of a second. The 50mm lens added to the depth of field and artistic composition. When I look at this shot, I think not only good ideas, but energy efficient ones.

As I was pumping gas, I noticed a combination of elements forming from my truck and the negative space around the nozzle. I liked the shadows that were cast and the faded – almost vintage message on the nozzle. The midnight blue meeting the vibrant green reminded me of the night sky touching a radiant earth.

Yesterday my friends told me the weatherman called for several inched of snow in Norfolk, Va. I strongly disagreed. I couldnt recall the last time in actually snowed worth anything out here since the 90′s. As you can see from my #photo365 pic, I was wrong.

Today was one of the rainy days. Extra muddy outside, so no running around today. I even woke up late this morning. I shot these rain drops at 1/80 and f1.8 with and iso of 100.

I found this sign to be amusing. A neighborhood convenient store obviously inspired by the house-hold known 7-11 logo. Note the drastic changes.

Something with a shallow depth of field and leading lines was the #Photo365War challenge for today. Look closely and you’ll see two sets of leading lines – the fence being the shallow depth of field.

Something blue and out-of-focus. This was my response to an on going #Photo365War. I’ll leave this one for you to figure out. This was shot with a longer shutter speed in order to drag the light from this gaseous subject.

This is a close up of a houndstooth patterned hat I purchased today. I liked the texture so much, I felt it should be my photo of the day. I shot this with my nifty fifty with an iso of 500 in a dim room. My aperture and shutter speed were set at 1/10 and f 1.8, respectively.

Doumar’s is a well known BBQ spot around Norfolk, VA  – it also makes for a good night shot. The bright yellow in the sign attracted me to this shot. I set my Nikon D90 aperture to about 1.8 and shutter speed to 1/80. The iso was on a low setting (L .03) around 100-150. Fast food signs may be a thing I continue to shoot.
